What we offer
Treatments
At Southern Vascular of Panama City, we offer a range of effective treatments for various vascular conditions. Our board-certified vascular and endovascular surgeon, Dr. Ashish Gupta, along with our experienced team, are dedicated to providing personalized care and utilizing advanced techniques to ensure the best outcomes for our patients. Our treatments include:
Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Repair
This treatment is performed to repair an abdominal aortic aneurysm, which is a bulging or weakening of the abdominal aorta. The procedure aims to prevent the aneurysm from rupturing by reinforcing the weakened section of the artery, typically through the use of grafts or stent grafts.
Hardening Of The Arteries
Also known as atherosclerosis, this condition refers to the buildup of plaque in the arteries, causing them to narrow and harden. Treatment for hardening of the arteries focuses on managing risk factors, such as lifestyle modifications, medications, and, in severe cases, interventions like angioplasty or bypass surgery.
Angioplasty & Stent Placement
This treatment involves the use of a catheter with a balloon-like device to open up narrowed or blocked blood vessels, typically caused by atherosclerosis. In some cases, a stent (a small mesh tube) may be placed to help keep the artery open and improve blood flow.
Aortic Aneurysm Repair
Aortic aneurysm repair refers to the treatment of an aneurysm in the aorta, the largest artery in the body. The goal of this treatment is to prevent the aneurysm from rupturing by reinforcing the weakened area of the aorta through surgical repair or endovascular stent grafting.
Peripheral Arterial Disease
Peripheral arterial disease (PAD) occurs when there is reduced blood flow to the limbs, typically the legs, due to narrowed or blocked arteries. Treatment for PAD may involve lifestyle modifications, medications to manage symptoms, and in severe cases, interventions such as angioplasty, stent placement, or bypass surgery.
Carotid Artery Disease
Carotid artery disease involves the buildup of plaque in the carotid arteries, which supply blood to the brain. If left untreated, this condition can increase the risk of stroke. Treatment for carotid artery disease may include lifestyle changes, medications, and interventions such as carotid endarterectomy or carotid artery stenting.
Carotid Artery Surgery
Carotid artery surgery refers to surgical procedures performed to remove plaque and improve blood flow in the carotid arteries. It is typically done to prevent stroke in individuals with significant blockages or narrowing in these arteries.
Peripheral Artery Bypass
Peripheral artery bypass involves creating a bypass around a blocked or narrowed artery in the legs or arms. This procedure aims to restore blood flow to the affected area by using a graft to reroute blood around the blocked segment of the artery.
